Jersey Tomatoes firmly believes that great food is rooted in great
product. Our fresh, seasonal produce comes directly from the
sustainable small farms that we love. Our seafood is sustainably
caught and cultured. Our meat products have no antibiotics,
synthetic hormones or pesticides, no GMO seeds, 100% certified
organic feed, no nitrates or preservatives. Family farmers raise
the animals, they are treated humanely and the birds we cook
are free ranging!
Christian Noto
A New Jersey native, Christian comes from an East
Coast Italian family. Needless to say, he loves to both
eat and cook.
With knowledge of Neapolitan-Italian-American cooking
from the early days in Mom and Grandma’s kitchens
under his belt, Christian moved to San Francisco and
landed a job at The Liberty Cafe. There, he was lucky
to receive hands on education in cooking from a wonderful
cast of Zuni and Chez Panisse trained chefs. He was also
one of the first staff of cooks at A16, helping to open what
has become one of San Francisco’s best restaurants.
In 2004, Christian left the Liberty Cafe and created The C'e Gagutz Underground Supper Club. In 2006, after spending 6 months cooking and traveling in South and Central America, Christian created Jersey Tomatoes, providing slow, direct from farm catering in San Francisco and the Bay Area. In 2007, Christian acquired a space on 6th Street and Minna which afforded a kitchen and a retail space he used to create Split Pea Seduction specializing in high-end, farm fresh take-out. Christian has also been active in the community. In fact, he's recently been awarded a neighborhood impact award from Urban Solutions. A dedicated staff, great attention to detail and product as well as an amazing sense of food make Christian's cooking truly exceptional!
